Impact Fees/Nexus
Impact fees are an increasingly common local government financing tool designed to ensure that growth pays its own way for new capital infrastructure without burdening existing taxpayers. BBC conducts impact fee studies for cities, towns, counties and districts throughout the U.S. Impact fees are typically assessed at the time of building permit, and are calculated for specific asset categories such as police, fire, transportation, and parks and recreation.
BBC also assists local governments negotiate intergovernmental agreements to collect impact fees for non-municipal service providers such as fire districts, parks districts and library districts.
